Yemen’s Ministry of Tourism called on the United Arab Emirates forces to put an immediate end to its destruction in the Yemeni Island of Socotra, according to a released statement on Tuesday.
The ministry urged the United Nations and the Security Council to accelerate adopting an international resolution in order to prevent the UAE forces from spoiling the alien-looking territory of the Socotra Archipelago and its unique natural resources.
The ministry also called on the UN to compel the UAE into leaving the Yemeni island as it has been establishing projects with no former permission, as well looting numerous creatures and moving them to Abu Dhabi.
“In an unprecedented event, the UAE has called the people of the island to vote on a referendum of self-determination to join them, and this is the most dangerous step,” the ministry stressed.
Moreover, the ministry condemned the continuation of excavation and dredging by the UAE forces.
