Yemeni court sentences 3 to death over spying for Saudi-led coalition

The criminal court in the capital Sana’a sentenced on Wednesday three people to death and jailed another over charges of spying for the Saudi-led coalition.

According to the court’s verdict, Saeed Mahfoud, Asma’a Matir al-Omisi and Ahmed Abdullah Bawazir were sentenced to death, while Mater Mohammed al-Omisi was sentenced to 15 years in jail, starting from his arresting date.

The convicts have been accused of spying and collaborating with the countries of the Saudi-led coalition as well as running networks for recruiting mercenaries in favor of the United Arab Emirates in the country.

Yemen has been under daily Saudi-led bombardment since March 26 of 2015, which is backed by the US and the UK.

The aerial attacks have killed thousands of civilian lives and injured plenty of others, according to the UN.
