“Saudi Arabia and the UAE have pumped billions of dollars in fighting Ansarallah in Yemen, but the campaign launched by the Arab alliance three years ago faces risks after local allies of the two countries have turned to fight each other,” the agency (Reuters) said .
“This was a serious setback for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, where thousands of air strikes so far have not been able to bring victory,” it said.
The agency pointed out that “the coalition led by Saudi Arabia has the support of US weapons and intelligence. But coalition efforts have been hampered by armed protests last week by fighters in southern Yemen, backed by the UAE, against recognized government forces. ”
The agency (Reuters) confirmed that the division that took place in Aden, “comes at a time when the coalition encountered other difficulties as hastily supported former President Ali Abdullah Saleh late last year with the first gesture to end his support for Al-Houthis, but killed by them.”
“Since then there has been no sign that there is a new strategy to end the war in Yemen and Saudi Arabia’s efforts to confront Iran in other regions, including Syria, seem to be losing momentum,” the report added.
