Yemeni Criminal Court sentences two al-Qaeda members for execution

The Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance in the capital Sana’a condemned on Sunday 12 members of al-Qaeda organization for the charges against them while two of them are sentenced with death.
Today under the chairmanship of Judge Mohammed Mufleh, the judge ruled that Mohammed Saleh Ali Abu Al-Aqili and Abdullah Ali Naji Ghaleb Al-Hawouri are to be executed.
The prosecution charged the defendants that during the first period of January 2011 until 20 January 2016, they participated in an armed gang affiliated with al-Qaeda to carry out terrorist acts including kidnapping, looting, bombing and well as resulting in the kidnapping of two foreign women, French and Tunisian for ransom.
They also monitored foreigners and social figures, traffickers and attempted abduction. They also monitored military sites including the air base in Sana’a and vehicles for the World Bank.
