On the 22end of February 2018 the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, Adel Al-Jubeir, took the conflict between truth and politics to entirely a new level, on his speech front of the foreign commission of the European Parliament in Brussels, Mr Al-Jubeir deliberately tried to misled his audience with obvious lies about the situation on Yemen, with an implausible deniability Al-Jubeir says that ( this war was impose on Saudi Arabia and their military intervention comes after the Yemeni president Haddi asked them to do so, and the coalitions rely on the U.N. resolution for its military intervention).

As it is known that a lie occurs any time when intentionally try to mislead someone, if we look at the fact that, on 26 February 2014 The United Nations Security Council adopted the resolution 2140 which underlined the need of implement a political transition and they put three individuals who would be subjected to a ban of travelling and assets freeze, on the 14 of April 2015 the council adopted the resolution 2216 which aimed to support the political transition and express the concern of the humanitarian situation, the peace on the whole region, and the unity and sovereignty of the country, the military intervention by the Saudi-led coalitions and imposing the blockade on Yemen started before this resolution on the 26 of March, three weeks before the last resolution, and according to the former U.N. Special Envoy to Yemen, Mr. Jamal Benomar, in his last statement front of the Security Council, he said “When this campaign, the Saudi-led coalition started, one thing that was significant but went unnoticed is that the Yemenis were close to a deal that would institute power-sharing with all sides, including the Houthis. Not only was the political transition interrupted by the war, the Coalition wanted to re-install as a President, a person who had a term that expired and has no support among the Yemeni population.

Mr Al-Jubeir again tried to cover up his country misdeeds claiming that Huthies imposing a blockade on cities and people and that led to a famine in the country, meanwhile several reports from the international organisations and a report by The United Nations Special Reporter on human rights and international sanctions, Idriss Jazairy, stressed that the aerial and naval blockade imposed on Yemen by the coalition forces since March 2015 was the main cause of the humanitarian catastrophe.

It has restricted and disrupted the import and export of food, fuel and medical supplies as well as humanitarian aid, the blockade involves a variety of regulatory, mostly arbitrary, restrictions enforced by the coalition forces – including an unreasonable delay and/or denial of entry to vessels in Yemeni ports.

The coalition bombed the runway at Sana’a airport many times, after reconstructing the runway it was bombed several times again and again. Also civilian flights to Yemen have been blocked and even the planned aid sometimes were blocked, and after the coalition imposed a closure on Sana’a airport, at least 10,000 people, who are in a need of medical treatments outside the country, have died in Yemen as a result of the Saudi-led coalition’s restriction on airspace and the closure of Sana’a airport started three years ago, according to Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and Yemeni Ministry of Health.

When facts and crimes are glaringly obvious no matter what, so they have to come up with an excuse for their situation, and tell lies. Shamelessly Mr Al-Jubeir spoke about Huthies are deploying kids in the battle fields and planting mines around the country, but the truth and the facts expose such lies, whereas according to all reports from the U.N. and other international organisations clarify that the most causalities among civilians is because of the airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition. Not only that but according to well known organisations such as Amnesty and human rights watch that the Saudi-led coalition used and still using cluster bombs over many different inhabited areas distributing mines all over the country.

Saudi Arabia and their international backers believe that they can fabricate such lies and misled the whole international community by using all of their power and influence in order to isolate Yemen away from the world and the international media by impose a ban against the entrance of journalists and foreign media into the country and that is by using what so called the Yemeni legitimate government which is loyal to the Saudis-led coalition, throughout not giving them ‘entrance permissions’ to enter the country. Another method is being used to isolate Yemen and to gain impunity for the ongoing war crimes and systematic rights violations in Yemen is to sabotage the international community of establishing an Independent Commission of Inquiry to investigate these allegations and provide redress to those whose rights have been violated, and in other hand to support the national commission of inquiry which doesn’t investigate the war crimes in Yemen, and described by The last report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights as a partial commission and lack of mechanism, and that is of course obvious because it is made by the Yemeni exiled governments which is in Riyadh, and loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

Turning a blind eye on these serious crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition, letting Saudi Arabia and other countries in this coalition, which are famous of disrespecting the human rights law, to led the show in Yemen claiming that they are applying the rules of the international community there, and also giving them the platform in order to tell lies, fabricate false stories, and deny reality, is undermining the Yemenis human rights, and as a consequence, that is undermining the human rights of all citizens of the world.
