The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored a new advance in the East Ghouta region of Damascus this afternoon, following a fierce battle with the terrorist rebels of Jaysh Al-Islam.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army was able to achieve this advance along the Shifouniyah-Hawsh Dawahra axis after SyAAF jets heavily bombarded the defenses of Jaysh Al-Islam in the area.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army captured a large number of trenches, tunnels, fortified buildings, and farms that were previously under the control of Jaysh Al-Islam and their allies.
The source added that Jaysh Al-Islam used these tunnels and trenches to ambush the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard forces at the Hawsh Dawahra axis yesterday.
The Syrian Army is now working on clearing the remaining tunnels used by Jaysh Al-Islam in the area
