The leader of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, called on British police to release the peace activist, who was arrested on Wednesday for throwing eggs at the car of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman while visiting London.
“We ask the British police in London to release the humanitarian activist who was said to have been arrested for throwing eggs at bin Salman’s car,” he said in a tweet on Thursday. Al-Houthi also expressed that how can a peace activist be arrested for throwing an egg while bin Salman and the Saudi-led coalition are relishing freedom while they are dropping thousands of tons of bombs and rockets on the people of Yemen throughout this war, adding that however; an egg can certainly not be compared to a US-Saudi bomb.
The head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee has described the incident of throwing the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia with eggs in London an incident that “represents a huge slap that was not expected by the House of Saud, for its one of their habits to utilize their money in order to provide coverage for their crimes and scandals.”
Moreover, Al-Houthi praised the activists who refused the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince in protest against the Saudi-led war, backed by the US and UK, against Yemen.
“The demonstrators in London stood by the injustice of the Yemeni people. One of the demonstrators was arrested throwing eggs at the car of Mohammed bin Salman, who is nicknamed the criminal as he indeed is for committing crimes against the children of Yemen. We salute the demonstrators in London because they are humiliating the Saudi crimes in their own way and manner, therefore we thank them for their great effort, which is in the interest of Yemen and Yemenis.”
