Sara Avery: Congress must vote to end Yemen war

From Sara Avery
I have dear friends in the Middle East who have lived through war, so I’ve been horrified to watch the illegal U.S. war in Yemen, which has plunged that already impoverished country into the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
But, I find hope that during the month of March, the Senate is expected to vote on ending this catastrophic war.
I call on Sens. Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner to support S.J.Res. 54, introduced by the bipartisan trio of Sens. Bernie Sanders, Mike Lee, and Chris Murphy, to withdraw U.S. armed forces from the Saudi-led war in Yemen.
The bill will force the first-ever vote in the Senate to withdraw U.S. armed forces from a war that Congress has never authorized, marking an important step forward in restoring congressional authority over decisions about war as required by the Constitution.
