A number of people were killed and wounded on Tuesday evening, 20 March, in fierce clashes between armed factions supported by Saudi and UAE forces in Aden, southern Yemen.
According to eyewitnesses in Al-Tawahi city close to YemenExtra, armed men backed by the UAE clashed with small and medium arms with armed elements loyal to ousted President Hadi, which is supported by the Saudi regime.
The clashes resulted in three deaths and six injuries on both sides.
The witnesses said that the clashes lasted for several hours, and extended to a number of residential neighborhoods and the main streets of the district, causing a state of panic and fear among civilians.
These confrontations are part of a heated conflict between the armed factions backed by the UAE and Saudi forces, which control the city of Aden and a number of southern Yemeni governorates.
The southern governorates of Yemen have been reportedly witnessing a security breach since the start of the war in Yemen and widespread elements of al-Qaeda.
