Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Saturday welcomed any positive proposals aimed at establishing a serious and comprehensive peace process.
This came during the minister’s meeting with a delegation of the European Institute of Peace (EIP), during which the two sides discussed aspects relating to Yemeni citizen’s situation and his interests as a top priority when talking about any political settlement.
The foreign minister stressed that the peace can not be achieved except through a dialogue involving all parties concerned with the Yemeni file, including the aggression states, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Head of the EIP affirmed the international actors’ keenness to achieve peace, underlining the need to make concessions for the benefit of Yemen and Yemeni people.
The meeting also touched on the consequences of the mass deportation of Yemeni expatriates from Saudi Arabia and the necessity of considering humanitarian and legal standards in order to preserve their rights and dignity, which are stipulated in international law.
