The National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research sent a distress call On Friday to the international organizations, requesting them to support the center in order to resume its work for it was bombarded by the Saudi-led coalition, leading to the lack of solutions and drugs for blood.
The Saudi-led coalition targeted the Blood Center using several air raids on Friday night, resulting in significant damage.
The Ministry of Health also called on all international organizations working in Yemen to condemn the direct targeting of health facilities and put pressure to stop the crimes and violations committed by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In the strongest terms, the Ministry of Public Health and Population condemned the targeting of the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research in the capital, Sana’a, resulting in considerable material damage.
The ministry said in a statement that this direct targeting of the center is a war crime, as it hinders the provision of blood transfusion services for cancer patients and blood diseases such as thalassemia, sickle cell anemia and others in addition to the wounded of the , pointing out that the center provides all the centers and hospitals in the provinces of their blood needs.
