Sana’a Technical and Vocational Education Office Reveals Losses Due to Saudi Raids

The initial losses resulting from the targeting of the Saudi-led coalition against the technical and industrial institutes in Sana’a governorate during the last three years amounted to three billion and 247 million riyals, according to the report of the damage inventory committee.

A report issued by the Office of Technical and Vocational Education in the province said that the US-backed coalition targeted the Industrial Technical Institute in Jhana district, the most affected by more than 12 raids, leading to the almost entire destruction at an estimated cost of re-establishment and restoration of components up to one billion and 187 million and 530 thousand riyals.

The report pointed out that the Saudi-led coalition partially destroyed the Institute of Manakha in the administrative, educational and the dorms of students and teachers, estimating the cost of re-establishment at 766 million and 703 thousand riyals, the warplanes also led to the demolition of the dining hall, Dean’s building and the educational building at the Institute of Technical Trade in Al-Hayma Al-Kharjia, estimated losses amount to 570 million and 775 thousand riyals.

Furthermore, it added that the technical institute in Hamdan district was exposed to four raids that led to the destruction of the building completely and damaged the workshops and hangars at an estimated cost of 574 million and 666 thousand riyals.

The Saudi-led coalition also targeted the vocational industrial institute in Bani Matar, at an estimated cost of 148 million and 107 thousand riyals, report continued.
