The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Organization confirmed that the US-Saudi-led coalition allegated, aiming at misleading world opinion and obstructing the continued operation of the port of Hodeidah, which is responsible for receiving food and medicine for more than 20 million Yemeni citizens
The Deputy Chairman of the Foundation , the engineer Yahya Sharafuddin said in a press conference that the port of Hodeidah provides logistical services to all shipping companies and traders and is committed to work within the laws and regulations and no official body has never submitted any complaint
For more than three years of blockade and targeting, the port has proved its ability to provide the necessary facilities for all humanitarian and relief vessels and to give it priority in its arsenal at the time when the coalition aimed at the destruction of containers, equipment and machinery, he confirmed
Sharafuddin pointed out that the coalition , which targetef even warehouses and linches ,continued to delay the entry of food vessels despite obtaining a permit from the United Nations Office for Protection and Inspection (UNVIM), resulting in damaging food shipments and medicines
He stated that the coalition’s practices against the port affected the Turkish wheat ship INCEINEBULO as well as the United Nations Lynch, which was working in transfering humanitarian and relief aid from the port of Djibouti to the port of Hodeidah ,the last targeted the slide on 27 May. 2018
He stressed that the port of Hodeidah will remain as a compliance for the international system of port security and will continue to operate despite the threat
