Yemeni Foreign Ministry Says Coalition Is Impeding Peace Efforts

An official source at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday held the Saudi-led coalition responsible for obstructing the international community efforts to bring peace in Yemen. 

“The aggression seeks to set obstacles through the escalation and raises the pace of raids killing civilians in order to create a Yemeni climate rejecting any peace talks,” the source said.

He added that it is trenchant that “the main goal of the aggression is to kill the Yemeni people and destroy their economic capabilities and all the elements of life.”

The source strongly denounced the coalition’s heinous crimes against Yemeni people, the last of which was the massacre of its warplanes against the northern city of Amran on Sunday, which resulted in over 24 dead and wounded.

He reiterated the necessity of dealing positively with the peace efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen in an attempt to terminate the Saudi-led war, lift the siege and reach a sustainable political settlement.
