The Yemeni forces , today, foiled a large-scale attempt of advancing of the US-Saudi-led coalition in #the West Coast Front, causing heavy casualties.
A military source said that units of the Yemeni forces foiled a large advance of the coalition and paid fighters, which continued for several hours with intense air cover towards the farms of Al-Fayza area in the Directorate of Tahita south of Hodeidah.
According to the source, a large number of the coalition and paid fighters were killed and wounded, and two military mechanisms and armored brigades were destroyed, in addition to seizing various military equipment of them during the response to the attempt to advance toward the farms of Alfaza.
The source confirmed that the Yemeni forces were able to besiege entire fighting groups and formations after the advance was foiled , pointing out that the leadership of the coalition left its dead and wounded bodies in the battlefields daily without any medical evacuations.
Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi(Ansarallah) movement, which is the main force that faces the coallition, said on a TV speech ,” The decision of invading the Yemeni ,western coast, has been taken and adopted by the United States of America,noting that the Saudis are trying to abolish Yemen’s freedom,” stressing that it was the people of Yemen’s right to defend their country.
“We are increasingly concerned by the fighting in Hodeidah,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a press conference held on Wednesday.
Dujarric also warned of the repercussions’consequences on the humanitarian situation
“The occurrence of a battle in Hodeidah, in the west of Yemen could lead to the destruction of the port, which in turn will send millions to starvation,” said the British newspaper, The Independent.
Even if the UK warned against attacking the vital port of Hodeidah, we bear responsibility for the horrors of this war, according to a report issued by the Guardian on June 17.
The Yemeni government has been suffering for nearly a year in a crisis to pay the salaries of 67,000 employees.
