Yemen’s Health Ministry on Sunday launched an SOS to the international humanitarian organizations to provide immediate help for kidney dialysis patients as the country is suffering from acute shortage of medical supplies due to more than three years of war and an all-out blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition forces.
The ministry stated that thousands of patients are in critical conditions and need urgent help.
In the statement, the ministry called on the international humanitarian organizations to bear their responsibility and provide medical solutions, equipment and medicines in order to save the lives of the patients.
The ministry said that over 2,200 of kidney patients require treatment to save their lives and 7, 300 patients are suffering of kidney failure, who need periodic wash for their survival.
The statement said that more than 1,200 patients had lost their lives due to the shortage of medical supplies being imported due to the air-sea-land blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition forces since March 2015.
