Civilian Organizations Condemns Targeting Wedding in Sa’ada

On Tuesday, three Human rights, women and children and media organizations condemned the crime of the US-Saudi Aggression, which targeted a wedding party in Ghafrah, Sa’ada Governorate, which resulted in the deaths of 11 civilians and the wounding of 11 others.

The organizations pointed out in separate statements, that the crime comes in the shadow of the silence of the international community and its bodies and organizations. These grave violations, crimes and massacres committed by US-Saudi aggression against the Yemeni people continue to intensify targeting both human and land.

In accordance with the international legal and humanitarian characterization of the four Geneva Conventions and the two protocols that include war crimes, the organizations condemned in the strongest terms this heinous crime that targeted civilians. they stressed that the US-Saudi Aggression is bombing and directing airstrikes without regard to the principle of distinction between civilian targets military targets and fighters. Their systematic killing of civilians requires punishment and international prosecution as stipulated in the laws and articles of international humanitarian law.

The civil organizations demanded to format an international inquiry commission on the crimes committed by the coalagainst innocent civilians. They, also, condemned the silence of the international community and the international bodies and organizations, especially the United Nations. The organizations appealed to the activists of the free world to condemn these crimes and massacres and stand by the Yemeni people, by exposing the countries of aggression and the war crimes committed against the peoples of the world.

They called The United Nations Envoy to Yemen and the international community to urge the Security Council to take urgent decisions to stop this unjust war against the people of Yemen and to lift the siege on all air, land and sea ports.
