UAE prolongs compulsory military service in Yemen as Yemeni air forces respond

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended compulsory military service for Emirati nationals from 12 to 16 months amid the Abu Dhabi’s involvement in the US-Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen, which has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians and reduced the impoverished Arab country’s critical infrastructure to rubble as the Yemeni Air Force has responded.
The Yemeni forces’ drones ,today, targeted the military communication networks of coalition’s troops with several airstrikes in the western coast front, a military source told YemenExtra.
Earlier today,Troops of the so-called Tehama resistance blocked the road linking between the coastal cities of Mocha and Hodeidah, which is a supply route for the UAE forces coming from Mocha in the western coast.This step came in protest against the suspension of payment of those troops’ dues by the coalition command, according to military sources.
On the same day,UAE-backed paid fighters broke into residents’ houses in Khukhah district in the western coast, arresting dozens of the citizens, firing bullets and terrifying the residents when they stormed al-Qataba area.

In a statement on Saturday, 7,7,2018 , the leader said both Gulf states, which led a US-backed military coalition, are using the United Nations and its UN envoy as an umbrella to seize control the port city of Hodeidah through baseless justifications.
The leader’s statement came a day after the US-Saudi-led coalition forces launched a major assault on al-Tuhayta district in the western coast, south of Hodeidah port city.
Defense Minister, Major-General Mohamed Nasser Al-Atefi, vowed to make the coalition forces much more surprised, saying that “The factors of victory and continuity of these factors in this prolonged war have been established and the enemy can not influence its outcomes and strong deterrent effectiveness.”
Head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi, said the Saudi alliance is trying to “obstruct the mission of the international envoy.”Al-Houthi said in a tweet that there is no way to resolve the political situation except the pressure of the international community on the leadership of the US-Saudi led coalition, stressing that the Yemeni people are capable of confrontation at all levels.
Despite the coalition’s claim that it wants to control Hodeidah port to allow the entry of Humantrian aid to Yemen, the Yemeni government, loyal to the US-Saudi-led coalition, has been suffering for nearly a year in a crisis to pay the salaries of 67,000 employees,and UAE keep chasing southerns to fight on belhaf of them in the west cost.
Hodeidah is a strategic port city which should be supporting more than 20 million Yemenis. It should be the source of at least 70 percent of all imports to Yemen,” Suze van Meegen, a protection and advocacy adviser with the Norwegian Refugee Council, told AFP. The US-Saudi-led coalition has been eager to retake from Yemeni joint forces control, according to Yemeni officials.. But the former UN special envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheik, warned against attacking the port city over potential catastrophic consequences to Yemen last year. Martin Griffiths, the new special envoy to Yemen, echoed the same concern over attacking Hudaydah at the UN Security Council .
