The Yemeni army forces foiled an attempt of advancing of the coalition’s paid fighters in the western coast front, targeting the paid fighters with the artillery shelling  and killing and wounding dozens of them during foiling the advance in Faza area, according to a military source.

The source confirmed that the commander of the fourth battalion loyal to Gen.Tariq Afash, Colonel Rashad Saleh al-Masri , Al-Masari was working as director of the 45 police station in Sanaa before he joined the coalition forces lead by Tariq Afash, was killed with three of his escorts as the Yemeni army forces foiled the coalition paid fighters’ ’ advance towards Haiys district in Yemen’s Red Sea Port city of Hodeida.

They also destroyed two armored mechanisms and two military vehicles belonging to the paid fighters, killing all their crew members.

The US-Saudi-led coalition  launched an offensive on Hodeidah on 12 June in the largest battle of the war that the United Nations fears risks triggering a famine in Yemen where an estimated 8.4 million people are on the verge of starvation. It was paused for peace talks, but no deal has been struck leaving Yemenis pessimistic over a viable political process.

Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi(Ansarallah)  movement, which is the main force that faces the coallition, said on a TV speech ,” The decision of invading the Yemeni ,western coast, has been taken and adopted by the United States of America, noting that the Saudis are trying to abolish Yemen’s freedom,” stressing that it was the people of Yemen’s right to defend their country.

The coalition continues to accuse the so called Houthis, Ansarallah, part of the Yemeni joint forces, of using Hodeidah to smuggle weapons from Iran despite its warships monitoring the Bab El Mandeb Strait. There has been no evidence to suggest that the Houthis are receiving arms via the port according to UN experts on Yemen.
