The Yemeni army forces  , today, launched an offensive on the positions of the US-Saudi-led coalition’s paid fighters in Yemen’s Red Sea Port City of Hodeidah, a military official told YemenExtra.

The official confirmed that dozens of the paid fighters were killed and injured in al-Jabelah area south of the Tuhaiyta district in the western coast.

The paid fighters suffered heavy losses in life and gear during the confrontations, the official said.

The army destroyed three military vehicles belonging to the militias in the same district, the official added.

Notably, A senior adviser to United Arab Emirates’ crown prince Mohammed bin Zayed , today ,said on his Twitter account that the coalition led by his country and Saudi Arabia isn’t able to win a war against Yemen, recommending the UAE to withdraw.

For their part, the southern tribe of Sabaiha , yesterday, called on the tribe’s fighters on the western coast fronts to return to the city of Lahj and fight in the fronts of Ras al-Aarah, al-Madariba, Tor al-Baha and Karish.

The US-Saudi-led coalition launched an offensive on Hodeidah on 12 June in the largest battle of the war that the United Nations fears risks triggering a famine in Yemen where an estimated 8.4 million people are on the verge of starvation.Recently, It has been paused for peace talks, but no deal has been struck leaving Yemenis pessimistic over a viable political process.

Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi(Ansarallah)  movement, which is the main force that faces the coallition, said on a TV speech ,” The decision of invading the Yemeni ,western coast, has been taken and adopted by the United States of America,noting that the Saudis are trying to abolish Yemen’s freedom,” stressing that it was the people of Yemen’s right to defend their country.
