UNICEF Calls Coalition to Stop Targeting Water Facilities in Yemen

The United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF had called on the US-Saudi coalition to stop immediately attacks on water facilities and civilian infrastructure in Yemen.

“Attacks on civilian facilities and services are unacceptable, inhumane and contrary to the basic laws of war,” UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore said in a press release.

She pointed out that the past few days witnessed an escalation in targeting systems and facilities necessary to maintain children and families lives in Hodeidah.

She noted that days ago, Zabid Sewage Center and a UNICEF-supported warehouse containing water supplies were attacked by air strikes and the water station in the port area, which supplies Hodeidah, was also attacked by air strikes.
