The US-baccked Saudi-led coalition ordered the arrest of the former deputy governor of Al-Mahra province Ali Salem Al-Harizi against the backdrop of the demonstrations in the province against the coalition presence, while a campaign of arrests took place in Shabwa governorate, which included a number of leaders of the southern movement.
Al-Harizi joined the protests against the coalition presence, which has recently risen because of the development of military sites in the province in eastern Yemen and the creation of an oil pipeline in the province to the Arabian Sea.
Elsewhere in Shabwa province, groups of the so-called Shaban Elite ,funded by the UAE forces, arrested theVice-President of the Revolutionary Council of the Southern Movement in the city of Azan, Shabwa province.
Local sources confirmed in a statement to YemenExtra that armed groups ,loyal to the UAE, arrested ,Mohsen Hassan Azzan, a member of the Central Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Revolutionary Council of the Southern Movement, in the Directorate of Azzan and took him to an unknown destination.
The sources said that the arrest of Ezzan was under the guidance of the Emirati orders after his appearing in one of the popular demonstrations in the Directorate of Kritker in Aden province on Saturday, which demanded the departure and defeat the forces of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition and shouted stern slogans, “No alliance after today .. Our leader is Hassan Baum.”
YemenExtra obtained , a video of a group of paid fighters of the forces of the UAE, while questioning , “Mohsen Hassan Azzan,” after being tortured and his nails being removed .
According to sources close to the “Azzan”, the elements of the UAE, tried through the investigations to force “Hassan Azzan” to condemn the Revolutionary Council of the Southern Revolution, and Fadi Baum, with being loyal to Hezbollah and Iran against the coalition countries in Yemen.
The campaign of arrests against the background of the organization of the Southern Movement events and protest demonstrations, in order to denounce the policies of the coalition in the southern provinces and rising prices and the deterioration of the national currency.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
