Since the beginning of the Saudi-led war on Yemen in the twenty-sixth of March of the year 2015, the suffering of patients with kidney failure is increasing day by day in all governorates of the Republic, and patients with kidney failure is one of the segments that suffer under the suspension of many dialysis centers.
Not a day passes without the death of a number of kidney failure patients in all dialysis centers, and the most suffering are patients with renal failure in the province of Hodeidah, western Yemen.
According to medical sources in the province of Hodeidah, dialysis patients suffer greatly, as the center of dialysis is frequented by hundreds of patients with renal failure in the province and its districts.
It is now in a situation that can no longer bear renal dialysis patients, due to the damage and suffering suffered by the health sector in general, and dialysis centers in particular, which have become more affected by the Saudi-led war on Yemen, not to mention the rest of the other sections; highlighting cancer patients who suffer like no other.
The medical sources said that the biggest and most important reasons for the increased suffering of patients with renal failure is because of the siege imposed by the US-backed coalition on Yemen, causing the lack of access to medicine and special medical supplies to treat patients with renal failure and save their lives, amid the great disregard of the international community towards this blockade.
The Saudi-led coalition did not only attempt to siege Yemen, but it also has been doing its best to force the closure of Hodeidah Port, which is the only lifeline for civilians and patients, although the port of Hodeidah is only permitted to receive small amounts of food and medicine.
The number of patients with renal failure has increased significantly, especially children, all of which resulted from the war, raids and targeting of civilians. Most patients suffer kidney failure due to the severe fear caused by the Saudi-led war, especially in the recent period where the coalition escalated its bombardment of the province of Hodeidah.
The suffering of patients with renal failure in the province has worsened while the number of deaths increased due to the blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US/UK/UAE, and not allowing the entry of equipment required for dialysis.
The Center also explained that the suffering of patients with renal failure is tremendous because the center of dialysis is the largest center in Hodeidah and Tahama, which is frequented by hundreds of patients from the province and its districts, as well as neighboring provinces.
This is taking place while the number of patients in need of dialysis sessions has been skyrocketing in the center. Death is around the corner due to the absence of medicines and solutions at the dialysis center, not to mention the cries of thousands of patients and their pain.
