Rocketry Force of the Yemeni army forces on Thursday fired a ballistic missile, Badr-1, at gatherings of the Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US, paid fighters off Najran, a source in the Rocketry Force told YemenExtra.
The source confirmed that the missile hit its target accurately, leaving heavy losses amid the coalition’s ranks.
Over the past three years, more than 10,000 civilians have been killed and tens of thousands wounded, while more than 3 million people have been displaced because of the coalition. More than one-third of the coalition air raids on Yemen have hit civilian sites, such as school buildings, hospitals, markets, mosques, weddings, funerals and economic infrastructure, according to the most comprehensive survey of the coalition. The coalition said that one of its warplanes had “wrongly targeted” a funeral in the capital Sana’a, killing more than 140 people, and announced disciplinary proceedings. An airstrike also hit a wedding on April 23, killing 22 civilians, including eight children, and injuring dozens, according to interviews with 17 villagers.
