Yemeni Media Union (YMU) on Tuesday demanded the declaration of Sana’a as the capital of Arab resistant media, denouncing Arab Information Ministers’ decision to declare Riyadh as the capital of Arab media for the year 2019.

“The decision confirms the state of official Arab degeneration, which reached the extent of complicity with Saudi Arabia and its rulers in the heinous crime against the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi,” the Union mentioned in a statement.

It expressed that it is surprising to see this happening “despite the international media uproar about this crime and the crimes committed by the coalition of Saudi aggression against civilians and humanity in Yemen.”

The statement considered the selection of the Saudi capital city as a symbol of media an insult to all free media in the Arab world.

The Union called on the Arab media organizations and networks to condemn the Arab information ministers’ decision and to continue to expose the crimes and humanitarian violations of Al Saudi regime at home and abroad.

The statement also called for further solidarity with Yemen and Yemeni media institutions.
