Head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has called on Israel to admit that it has been defeated in Syria.

“Israel and its allied countries in the region must admit that they are defeated in Syria in front of the axis of Resistance,” al-Houthi said in a tweet on Tuesday.

He added: “The US withdrawal [from Syria] is further evidence of that,” adding “Israel and its allied countries in the region must recognize that they were defeated in Syria in front of the axis of resistance and the US withdrawal of further had proved that.”

The White House spokeswoman, Sarah Sanders, has announced that Washington has begun the process of withdrawing its troops from Syria, and that US forces are preparing for the next stage of fighting the terrorist organization ISIS.

Officials told Reuters that Trump’s decision to withdraw from Syria was a major aid factor that led to the resignation of Defense Minister James Mathis and was part of a 45-minute debate between them on Thursday, in which the two voiced their differences.

Trump has long been questioning the mission of the US military in Syria, supported by his national security team, to ensure the defeat of ISIS.
