Defense Minister Praises Journalist, Media Role in Confronting Saudi-Led Coalition

Defense minister Mohammed Nasser al-Atafi praised the great efforts and roles of the national journalists and media in confronting the Saudi-led coalition war on Yemeni people.

This came in his speech during a honoring ceremony for a constellation of the journalists and media, media, writers and poets in the capital Sanaa.

” We want to prove to the world that while we are confrontational men, we are also men of peace, but if the coalition continues to kill the Yemen propel and destroy its infrastructure, we will defend our people and our homeland until achieving the whole victory,” al-Atafi said.

Since 2015, thousands of civilians, mostly children and women have been killed by Saudi airstrikes. Reports say that the Saudi-led coalition is committing daily crimes in Yemen.

The Saudi war has resulted in bringing famine to more than 14 million Yemeni civilian, which is half the population. According to Oxfam, a civilian is being killed because of the war every three hours. Moreover, the UN says that a child dies every 10 minutes due to starvation
