Yemen’s foreign minister meets UNICEF’s acting representative

Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met on Wednesday with UNICEF’s acting representative in Yemen, Sherin Varkey.

The meeting discussed the details of the implementation of programs and projects conducted by UNICEF in Yemen.

Sharaf urged the UNICEF office to accelerate the implementation of programs and projects within its competence, especially with the urgent need to redouble the humanitarian effort to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni citizens.

In the meeting, Varkey briefed Sharaf on nominating a new resident representative of the organization instead of Meritxell Relano.
