At least two civilians were killed and others injured when the US-Saudi coalition warplanes launched 24 strikes on several residential areas of capital and Sana’a province during the past few hours, military media said on Sunday.

Two civilians were killed and others injured in six airstrikes on Azaal factory for sponge and plastic in residential area of Jader in Bani- alHarerth district.

Two airstrikes were waged on homes in Jader area. In addition, the warplane waged a raid on a food factory in Wadi-Ahmed area.

An airstrike targeted a hanger behind Saudi-German hospital in Bani-alHarerth. Furthermore, an airstrike targeted a workshop in Daris area of criminal investigation road in Bani-alHarerth.

Five airstrikes targeted Dailami air base. Other four airstrikes hit 21 September garden in Moaen district and a series of raids hit several areas of the capital.

The warplanes also launched a raid on Hafa camp, and another on Shamlan area of Hamdan district.

Yemen’s Human Rights Ministry condemned the stepped-up attacks on the capital, saying the raids came at a time when the city was hosting many people, who have fled the Saudi-led attacks against other parts of the country.

The coalition has killed tens of thousands in the Arab world’s poorest country, trying unsuccessfully to restore power to Yemen’s former Riyadh-allied government.

The US has been lending generous arms and logistical support to the coalition, turning a deaf year to numerous calls by international rights groups for Washington to drop such support.

The Saudi-led escalation could jeopardize ongoing United Nations peace efforts that brought the two sides together in Sweden for the first time late last year, where they agreed a truce in the lifeline port city of Hodeidah.

It called the strikes “an escalation” and a violation of international human rights law, calling on the United Nations to take a position and condemn the bombings.
