The 22nd Medical Camp for “Eye Surgery” Will Launch Under Auspices of Minister of Health

Affected Communities Health Care Association (ACHCA) will launch the 22nd medical camp for “eye surgery” in Al Haymah Ad Dakhiliyah district of Sanaa province in early of the coming week, under auspices of the Minister of Public Health and population, Dr. Taha al-Mutwakel.

Secretary-General of the ACHCA, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab said that the free medical camp “22” for the eyes comes on the annual anniversary of Martyrs.

The camp will be implemented during the period from 9 – 14 February in the “21st September Hospital” Al Haymah Ad Dakhiliyah , to provide medical services in ophthalmology and procedures of “white water, conjunctivitis, fatty eyelid bags”.

He pointed out that the camp comes in coordination with the Health and Population bureau in Sanaa province, aims to alleviate the suffering of citizens in the district, and conduct medical check-up for about 1,500 cases, and conduct 150 surgeries free of charge

The associations carried out 21 free medical camps in all province of the Republic, in which 33386 cases were inspected; more than 1899 undergone a variety of surgeries, in addition to giving free medicines to over 22,000 and 900 different cases, during the past period, he added.

Yemen has been suffering from a Saudi-led military campaign since 2015, which has caused the worlds worst humanitarian crisis, in addition of pushing the impoverished state to the brink of famine, according to a previous statement by the United Nations.

After 4 years of a brutal war, the spokesman of the salvation government has declared that the number of civilians killed till last year it amounted to be 15359 people, while the number of injured is 24121, in a total of 39480 people between killed and injured; in addition to more than 22 million are in vital need of humanitarian aid.
