New Prisoners Swap Meetings, under UN Supervision, to Begin in Amman

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, Abdulqader Al-Murtadha, said, on Monday, that the first session of the committee overseeing the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement will be held in Amman.

On Tuesday, under the auspices of the Office of the UN envoy to Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Al-Murtadha stated that the meetings would be fruitful if the other party is ready to reveal the fate of the prisoners and sign the final lists of the prisoners.

Al-Murtadha pointed out that the opening session will be attended by UN envoy, Martin Griffith, and ICRC President Peter Maurer.

He also pledged to hold a press conference after the first session to make all outcomes available to the public.
