Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi on Monday said that the other party, represented by the exiled Hadi’s government and Saudi-led coalition, continues to evade the implementation of its obligations in the files of prisoners, economy and Taiz.
“The other party seeks to circumvent Sweden agreement and evade its implementation,” Sayyed Abdulmalik said during a speech he delivered on the occasion of Muslim Women’s International Day and the anniversary of the birth of Sayyida Fatima Al-Zahra.
“The other party has its own ambitions for which it is moving without giving any importance to the interest of Yemeni people and the residents of Hodeidah in particular,” he added.
From the first moment of the prisoners exchange agreement, the other party seemed not ready to submit its lists of prisoners, and so it sought to obstruct the implementation of the agreement on the date set by Sweden consultations at presence of the United Nations.
During two months of the consultations hosted by Jordan, members of the prisoners committees in the two parties did not reach a solution.
Head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs Abdul-Qader al-Mortada said that “the other side, represented in the coalition and its militias cares more about prisoners of its criminal and intelligence cells than prisoners of its forces and militias.”
The coalition said that Sanaa authorities want to swap their captives for civilian gunmen, which was denied by al-Mortada, asserting that “the prisoners held by the Yemeni army forces are either war prisoners from combat fronts or members of criminal cells working to destabilize security and stability in favor of the aggression inside the provinces.”
Sayyed Abdulmalik, warned of using available options to respond to the forces of the US-Saudi aggression, if they failed to abide by the Sweden agreement and went back to military escalation in Hodeidah. “All efforts to implement the Swedish agreement have stumbled because of the enemies desire to evaide the agreement. If they return to their military escalation in Hodeidah, we have options to respond, which I do not like to talk about right now,”.
Added that “I advise the UAE not to go back to the path of military escalation,” noting that “the enemy has encountered military difficulties in Hodeidah and faced many problems in the world, especial with its ruined reputation.” “The other party shuns the implementation of the agreement and seeks to bypass it and evade its implementation. They are moving with their ambitions and are not concerned with the interests of the people of Yemen and the interest of the people of Hodeidah specifically,” he said.
He pointed out that the battle today is to conquer the Yemeni people and to divide their word. “The various headlines given by the enemy to the battle in Yemen are void, and the battle is to enable foreigners to control our people”.
