Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi on Monday criticized the remarks made by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt from Aden, saying it has provoked 24 million Yemenis.

“When you are in the great Yemen, you have to choose your words carefully and position to say what you want to say,” the deputy foreign minister wrote in Twitter to Hunt.

“Your remarks today near our water in Aden, talking in that way about a party supported by 24 million Yemenis out of 27 million and 39 political parties out of 42 Yemeni parties, is very provocative,” al-Ezzi added.

“You have to realize that we do not care to prove our respect for Stockholm agreement and our keenness to implement it but in front of one side in this universe which is our great people.”

Al-Ezzi concluded by saying: “As for you and your allies, we say to you: We have chosen peace with all pacifists  and we are also able to fight in war that we haven’t use yet, and the choice is yours.”

Al-Ezzi confirmed in another tweet “We have proved over the past 80 days that we are the most respected for Stockholm agreement and the most self-restraint in front of the violations of the US-Saudi invaders and mercenaries, which exceeded nine thousand violations, including dozens of aerial raids.”.

The Deputy Foreign Minister’s remarks came hours after the visit and remarks of the British Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt to Saudi-occupied Aden, encouraging the Saudi-led coalition and paid-militias to execute military escalation in Hodeidah and to drop Stockholm agreement.

The British Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, made remarks from Aden underlining beyond doubt his country’s dirty role in the occupation of Yemen.

It is worth mentioning that Britain occupied southern Yemen for more than 100 years before being expelled by the Yemeni people in the October Revolution, which took place in 1963.
