Minister of Oil and Minerals Ahmed Daress has announced the provision of 40,000 new domestic gas cylinders in the capital Sanaa.

“Starting on Tuesday, 40,000 new gas cylinders will be provided to citizens in the lanes in addition to 300,000 heads for the maintenance of the idle cylinders,” he said at a press conference held by the Ministry of Oil and Minerals in Sanaa.

He noted that the latest maintenance of gas cylinders was in 2016.

The reason that hinders the maintenance is the interruption of revenues that go to the exiled Hadi’s government in Marib, he said.

Ahmed Daress pointed to sums accumulated by the authority appointed by the exiled Hadi’s government in Marib, since years ago is more than 1 billion riyals.

The Minister of Oil and Minerals blamed the coalition-backed government for the catastrophic explosions caused by the damaged gas cylinders because they do not carry y out maintenance work, despite the seizure of the amounts allocated for the maintenance of damaged gas cylinders.

In this context the Yemeni capital Sana’a and  number of provinces are witnessing a new crisis and a lack of oil derivatives in most oil stations. Most of the gas stations in Sana’a were closed, while cars lined up in front of the stations which are still operating.

The Unjust siege, the continuous bombardment, the stifling crisis and all that caused by the war waged by Saudi-led coalition against Yemen in general, have created a tragic environment for malnourished children, which has affected Yemeni children in the first place and the society as whole in all its categories.
