Yemen petroleum company and security services launched a campaign to combat black market for petroleum materials in the capital Sana’a and all others province s governorates.
In a statement, the company said the move based on the responsibility of the company to provide for the needs for citizens of petroleum derivatives of certified technical quality.”
“Petroleum products sold on the black market cause countless disasters on the lives and properties of various generators, equipment and means of transportation as they are not known sources with poor specifications,” the statement read.
“These materials are not in conformity with the specifications as well as the poor transport and storage in reservoirs that do not meet technical standards, as well as the poor exploitation of the needs of the people at the moment by greedy people,” the statement added.
“The people of illicit earning are mixing petroleum products with other materials to increase profits,” the statement said.
It warned citizens “not to be dragged behind the purchase of petroleum products from the black market being contaminated and not conforming to specifications.”
In its statement, the Yemeni oil company called on all citizens to “interact and report any manifestation of the black market anywhere on telephone number: 836554 01 and facsimile enable number: 447743 01”.
The campaign of oil and security agencies to combat the black market of oil derivatives coincides with the distribution of the company’s schedule of the names of the stations that the company has in the petroleum and Diesel in the municipality of the capital to meet the needs of the citizens on Monday.
In this context the Yemeni capital Sana’a and a number of provinces are witnessing a new crisis and a lack of oil derivatives in most oil stations. Most of the stations in Sana’a were closed, while cars lined up in front of the stations, which are still operating.
