The people in the city of Dreihmi province, Hodeidah made urgent appeal to lift the siege on them.

They confirmed the entry of the ninth month while they are still suffer from the unjust siege imposed by the Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US., which is one of the most heinous crimes against humanity.

Nine months of unjust unjust siege have passed on all the people of Duraheimi city, including children, women, the elderly and the sick, amidst an international silence, especially in light of the intransigence of the forces of coalition to bring convoys and humanitarian aid to the people in the city.

More than 7,000 civilians in the Didihami district south of Hodeidah suffer from a suffocating siege imposed by the coalition and its paid fighters since nine months.
In June 2018, the coalition imposed a land and air blockade on the densely populated Durahmi area, about 20 km from the coastal city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea.

In August 2018, the coalition announced a military operation to seize the city, backed by air force, rockets and artillery, and ground attack, as well as forces loyal to fugitive Yemeni president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, but despite all the resources, the Saudi forces could not overcome the resistance by the Durahmi residents , so that led the coalition to impose a suffocating siege on the city.

The Yemeni Ministry of Health complained that the international community was ignoring the plight of civilians in Drehemi, saying dozens of appeals had been issued to the International Relief Organization without response.

Although they themselves have borne the devastating war , thousands of Yemeni civilians have begun to raise funds and prepare a large food convoy to the Durahmi residents.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
