Al-Houthi Speaks to Al-Araby TV about Yemeni Drone Strikes

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme political Council has stressed that the Air Force and Missile Forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces would continue to carry out drone and missile attacks on Saudi-led Coalition countries, following the rule “an eye for an eye”.
He indicated that “the truce is useless” in the light of the ongoing coalition war and its siege.
“We hope to bomb all targets that cause severe pain to them, just as they do with us: bombing our airports, our markets, our infrastructure, the palaces of the presidency, the courts, prisons, weddings and residences. They have left nothing in our homeland that they haven’t bombed,” he said.
“We have been facing the ongoing aggression against our country since over four years ago,” he confirmed.
“The leadership of the ministry of Defense saw that the Saudi-led aggression crimes are continuing, and that there is no point in continuing the truce. This is why they have returned to use their means to deter the aggression. Some may think there is an escalation, but the escalation of the invaders against us has not stopped for a moment,” al-Houthi told Alaraby TV during an interview aired on Tuesday.
“If you stop beating us, we will stop beating you, this is an equation that must be clear,” he said.
Mohammad al-Houthi denied that Yemen is an “arm of Iran”, saying : “If we were an arm of Iran, as they claim, we would not tell you that we want to stop attacking you if you stop your attacks.”
“This is the biggest proof that we are not associated with Iran, and that the aid that you are claiming is moving us. What motivates us to attack you is your targeting of our people and your crimes,” he said.
“There is no support or assistance from Iran, and they know that what they have been saying is not true.”
“The US is trying to give a great impetus to the battle, especially as the international community is aware of the violations of international law committed by aggression states in Yemen. Yemen is suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis [in the world], and the United States is trying to play a role to say that what is happening in Yemen is the result of Iranian interference,” he said.
Al-Houthi accused the coalition countries of thwarting the peace efforts in Yemen.
“The Coalition of aggression is the one who seeks to thwart the effort to achieve peace and has not offered anything.”
“The aggression employed a truce on the pretext that it had won a victory and targeted all missiles and drones (…) [But] We are constantly developing our capabilities; we have experimental centers and tests that develop our quality capabilities and we hope to shoot down every enemy plane.”
In the context of the political process, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi blamed the coalition for obstructing the implementation of the Sweden Agreement.
“We have implemented the Stockholm Accord and initiated the unilateral redeployment, with recognition of the United Nations, while the other side has not done anything, and we have provided many solutions and initiatives for peace,” he said.
“The other party offered arbitrary conditions outside the terms of the agreement, and the United Nations asked us to implement the agreement unilaterally because it despaired and was unable to oblige the other party to carry out anything. [The UN] came to us, because it knows very well that we offer solutions and initiatives,” the chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee added.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi reaffirmed that Washington is the only one who has the power stop the war.
“The states of aggression and their mercenaries are only working according to what America dictates, and those who stand against peace today is the Trump administration, which has stopped the congressional decision to halt support for this aggression.”
“We always say that this is an American-Israeli war, and that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are nothing more than tools that carry out their plans under US supervision and direct intervention by the Americans and the British in the battle,” he said.
“The MQ9 drone that Washington confessed that was shot down in Hodeidah is not the first one,” he added.
Al-Houthi accused the coalition and its economic war of spreading famine in Yemen, and launched a verbal attack on World Food Program.
“The WFP is still working with the mechanism of the 1950s that cannot be applied today, not only in Yemen but elsewhere, because it imports the materials it wants and then distributes them even though they are contaminated,” he said.
“We are ready to agree on a mechanism for the delivery of assistance to those entitled to relief, without prejudice to Yemen’s sovereignty,” he said.
“The United Nations says it is proceeding with the local law of the Republic or the region where food is distributed, and Yemeni law does not allow information such as fingerprints to be handed over,” he concluded.
