Ministry of Education: Saudi-Led Coalition Destroyed 2500 Schools, Displaced 2 million Students in Yemen

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Abdulkareem Al-Jandari, confirmed that the Saudi-led coalition destroyed more than 2500 educational facilities in various Yemeni governorates. He reported the aforementioned statement at the inauguration of the new academic year 2019-2020 on Sunday in Dhamar governorate under the slogan “Education First.”
Al-Jandari noted that the starting of the new academic year is a message to the world showing that Yemen continues to steadfast in the face of the US-backed coalition. The attendance of students and teachers to keep the educational process going is one of the challenges the Saudi-led coalition faces.
Al-Jandari explained that the continuation of the educational process is a national duty to thwart aggressions’ plans that aim to halt education and neglect future generations. He urged all members of the community to cooperate with school administrations in the enrollment of students and the success of the school year.
