UNESCO Office for Yemen Director, Gulf States visits National Museum in Sana’a

The Director of the UNESCO Office for Yemen and the Gulf States, Anna Paolini, and her accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting Yemen, visited Sunday the National Museum in Sana’a.
During the visit, which was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Culture Mohamed Haidara, Paolini, concerned with the Public Authority for Antiquities and Museums, heard an account of the contents of the National Museum, the projects carried out and the main difficulties and obstacles to its opening before the public, the damage caused to the Museum as a result of the aggression air raids in the surrounding areas of the Museum, as well as the lack of operational budget, security and safety.
The international official commended the museum’s extremely important artifacts and the efforts made in preserving them.
