Al-Houthi to US Central Command: “Yemenis Rule the Seas – Avoid Reckless Aggression”

4

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, issued a stern warning to the United States Navy, asserting that Yemenis are the “masters of the sea” and cautioning against any hostile actions targeting Yemen. His remarks came in response to statements by US Central Command regarding the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, which is reportedly preparing to launch strikes on Yemeni targets.

Al-Houthi addressed the US Navy directly, emphasizing, “Our armed forces have delivered a clear message, which your admiral has understood well. Do not send your sailors on a reckless mission to defend Israeli aggression and terrorism against the people of Gaza.”

He called on the United States to abandon its “foolish adventures” and focus on securing its own shores rather than serving the geopolitical interests of others. He further criticized reliance on “myths and superstitions” propagated by certain Israeli leaders.

Describing the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea as a direct declaration of war and a threat to Yemen’s national security, al-Houthi reminded Washington of the fate of previous US aircraft carriers, including the USS Eisenhower and USS Roosevelt. Both vessels were forced to withdraw from the region months ago, following significant strikes by Yemeni forces employing ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.

Al-Houthi’s statement reiterated Yemen’s readiness to confront any aggression, highlighting the challenges faced by US forces during their last encounters with Yemeni armed forces. He concluded with a pointed warning to the US: avoid repeating past mistakes or risk enduring severe consequences.
