Hamas Calls for UN Observers to Monitor Gaza Hospitals Amid Israeli Bombing
The Hamas Movement has called for the deployment of United Nations observers to monitor Gaza’s remaining hospitals, aiming to counter Israeli claims that medical facilities are being used for military purposes.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Hamas condemned what it described as the systematic targeting and destruction of medical infrastructure by the Israeli military. The group highlighted the recent bombing of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza as a stark example of what it called a “war of extermination and ethnic cleansing” against the Palestinian people.
Hamas urged the UN and international organizations to take immediate action to protect Gaza’s hospitals and ensure their continued operation. It also called for the urgent delivery of medical supplies and humanitarian aid to address the dire conditions in the region’s health facilities.
The destruction of Gaza’s hospitals has exacerbated the already critical humanitarian crisis, with healthcare services stretched beyond capacity amidst relentless military assaults.
