The Lebanese Army announced a ceasefire with Daesh forces in the Ras Ba’albak area, effective at 7 A.M. (Beirut Time).
“The Lebanese Army Guidance declared Sunday morning a cease of fire against Daesh for more negotiations to reveal the fate of the kidnapped soldiers,” according to a communique issued by the Army Guidance Directorate Department, as quoted by the National News Agency of Lebanon.
This ceasefire announcement by the Lebanese Army was declared around the same time the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah announced Daesh’s surrender in the small pocket the latter occupied in western Damascus.
The Lebanese Army will now ‘negotiate’ with Daesh, which will likely end in the latter’s transfer to Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate.
