The Syrian Arab Army’s most elite formation, having just finished combat operations in eastern Syria, is currently moving to the country’s northwest in order to carry out a new offensive.

The Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division is to not be deployed to northern Hama as was initially believed, but rather to the Khanassir axis, according to military sources.

Based on this information, it is most likely the case that Tiger Forces will assist other army and pro-government units in the region to achieve more advancement and control the strategic Abu Duhur military airport which has been under the control of terrorist militias for several years now.

The renewed push by Syrian pro-government forces to secure the airbase occurs after Russian airpower virtually wiped the installation off the map following a series of intense bombing against it two days ago.

The main opposition that the Tiger Forces will encounter is the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda) terrorist group who leads the bulk of anti-government combatants in the area.
