Seven recruits were killed on Monday in an attack by Al-Qaeda members that targeted the headquarters of the local authority in the city of Al-Houta in Lahj governorate, southern Yemen.
Gunmen linked to Al-Qaeda launched a car bomb attack followed by an arms attack on a government building used by the provincial authority as a center of government, local source reported.
About five civilians were killed in clashes between recruits and Al-Qaeda members following the Al-Qaeda attack on headquarters of the local authority in Lahj, noting that a number of attackers were killed during the operation, source confirmed.
Moreover, Some of the Al-Qaeda attackers were wearing explosive belts and has just returned from the Mocha coastal front in Hodeida governorate, western Yemen, after fighting alongside the forces of the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen.
A number of confessions made by fighters in the ranks of the Saudi-led coalition have been documented, where they confirm that they were fighting alongside members of Al-Qaeda and Daesh organizations against the Yemeni joint army.
