The United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick said on Monday, there is no way to find other alternatives for aids in case Hodeidah port targeted.
Mr. McGoldrick stressed, in a meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf, the utmost importance of the safety of Hodeidah port as it is considered to be a key lifeline for the entry and delivery of humanitarian support for the Yemeni people.
The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of the safety of the port of Hodeida, which is responsible for more 70% of the humanitarian aid for Yemeni people.
He pointed out that Pledges aid to Yemen conference, which is to be held on April 25 in the Switzerland city of Geneva, and it should focus on humanitarian efforts and assistance to Yemenis and not only be political.
Sharaf stressed the keenness of the Government of National Salvation to achieve peace and make all efforts to end the suffering of the Yemeni people, which has been going for two years, now entering the third.
