The Engineering Unit of the Yemeni army forces on Saturday unveiled their operations on various fronts during last October.

A source in the Engineering Unit told YemenExtra that they conducted 153 engineering operations on various fronts during the past month, destroying 67 machinery, 10 armored vehicles, 6 military bulldozers and a tank.

The Engineering Unit , in addition, targeted gatherings of the coalition’s paid fighters with 69 operations. In the West Coast, the Engineering Unit conducted 62 operations.

The Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US, launched, on Saturday, over 60 airstrikes on Kilo-16 and Hodeidah Airport, while the US-Saudi artillery targeted residential areas in the same area. It is worth mentioning that the coalition launched over 120 raids on Kilo 16, Hodeidah Airport and its surroundings.

Separately,a 7-year-old Yemeni girl, Amal Hussein, whose photograph in The New York Times became a symbol of the country’s long-running conflict, has died, Yemen’s Health Ministry said On Saturday.

Amal’s picture published in The New York Times last week,  showing her lying on a bed at a health center in Aslam in the northwestern Yemen Hajjah Province, drew an impassioned response from readers.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 60,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
