A member of the delegation of Sana’a negotiator Abdulmalik al-Ajri revealed the reason of the failure of the agreement on the general political framework for the solution in Yemen in Stockholm negotiations in Sweden, which ended last week under the auspices of the UN.
.
Al-Ajri said in his first press interview to the official newspaper “Al-Thawra” after the conclusion of negotiations in Stockholm, and will be published in the newspaper’s issue issued on Sunday, that “among the most important points of disagreement that caused the failure of the agreement is that the national delegation, Sana’a delgation, demanded the exist of foreign forces from the Yemeni territories within the security and military arrangements. “

Al-Ajmi pointed out to untrue concept which was evocked in the Yemeni public opinion about the status of the city of Hodeidah according to the latest agreement, especially after the attempt of the coalition to promote the opposite concepts when interpreting to the agreement, denying what he described as “allegations of the aggression alliance on the port of Hodeidah.” He said that ” submitting the port is just a propaganda item that the coalition is trying to compensate for defeats on the ground and politically.

He added that the conditions of the agreement  are clear , which doesn’t include submitting the ports as claimed by the coalition and its paid fighters , but rearranging the issue to alleviate the humantrian suffering , adding about Hodeidah city that the items of the aggreement asks for the withdrawal of the forces and paid fighters of the coalition from the outskirts of the city to its outside and to restore the position of the national forces to where they were before the recent escalation of the coalition last Ramadan, and that the existing authorities are responsible for managing the security and civil situation of the city.

On the subject of the revenues of the port of Hodeidah, Al-Ajri pointed out that this aspect is “organically linked to the Joint Economic Commission, which the national delegation requested its formation and demanded resolving the controversial issues due to its relation to the humanitarian and living conditions of all Yemenis, adding that the economic file has not yet been solved ,and disagreements in some points were summarized to two items, “and expecting that these points will be finalized and resolved the issue of salaries and pay them in next January negotiations round .

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 60,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.

However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
