The spokesman of the armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed the death of one of the members within the demining unit this afternoon in Hodeidah. He was subjected to heavy injury while working in the southwest of Kilo 16 area, which occurred before the eyes of the UN team. The man was clearing the path of the UN team in the 13 kilo street, which leads to the the Red Sea Mills.

The official senior explained that the Saudi-UAE paid militias broke out various kinds of violations against the cease-fire agreement in Hodeidah. The spokesman confirmed that the militias were careless of the movements of UN team and officials from the joint commission, who were on their way along with the demining team to open the road. One of the members in the mine action team named Mohammed Fouad Mohammed al-Atari, an engineer, was seriously injured. The engineer was then hospitalized, but died of his injuries.

Brigadier Saree said that the violations made by the Coalition militias shows the truth of their intentions and their lack of seriousness in the implementation of agreement that was agreed upon during Yemen’s last peace talk which was held in Sweden. He added that they also showed great disregard for the UN team who was present at the scene to supervise the opening of the road.

The spokesman of the Yemen’s armed forces called on the United Nations and the UN team to shoulder their responsibility for the continuing violations of the Saudi-led coalition and its militias on ground, regarding the coastal western province of Hodeidah. He called on the UN envoy and the head of the observer team to condemn these violations and declare the other party as a party that is hindering the agreement.

“The demining team in the city of Hodeidah was doing its job in opening a clear path to the Red Sea Mills, according to an agreement with the UN Coordinator on that matter. However, and in the presence of the UN team, the Saudi-led militias targeted Engineer / Mohamed Fouad, who lost his live shortly after his critical injury. This proves that the Coalition forces are hindering peace steps and its violations are now accommodating in a bigger scale,” the head of Sanaa delegation said on Twitter.
