The Saudi-led coalition’s clashes between its troops and paid fighters in southern Yemen

The southern provinces are witnessing an overwhelming security chaos and the spread of Takfiri groups and conflicts between the wings of the tand throops and their paid fighters since they took over the forces from Saudi Arabia two and a half years ago.

Three members of the so-called Security Belt, working for the UAE forces, were killed, on Wednesday, in an attack in Abyan province south of Yemen, whereas local sources reported that an explosion with an improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle belonging to the soldiers of the security belt in Al-Mahfad area, killing three of them and wounding others.

A leader of the Southern Transitional Council was killed by unidentified gunmen in the same governorate.

Two gunmen of the security-backed paid fighters were killed and 10 others injured in Abyan.

Five soldiers were killed and three others were injured in an attack by Takfiri groups of al-Qaeda paid fighters on a security post .

According to media sources close to the coalition , quoting informed sources as saying “ gunmen belong to “Al Qaeda” launched an attack at midnight on one of the security points of the Security Belt supported by the UAE in Mahasema village of Ahor coastal district.”According to sources, the attack killed five recruits and wounded three others seriously.

SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties, based in Geneva, has recorded 103 murders in Aden in three years.The organization said in a recent report titled “Invisible Killer” that the assassinations focused on security men, preachers of mosques and politicians, confirming that its report comes after assassinations in Aden remained a mystery for a period of time.

A leaked document revealed the killing of 23 Yemeni detainees inside the secret prisons of the UAE in Aden. According to a report by the Gulf Online website, a statement by detainees, in the prison of Bir Ahmad, revealed to the Minister of the Interior, appointed from the coalition, Ahmed al-Misri, that “the detainees had been killed in the prisons of Shalaal, Abu Al-Yamamah, Saleh Al-Sayyid Waisran by pro-Emirates leaders.”

An expanded investigation by the US Daily Beast website revealed a role for US interrogators in committing torture along with their UAE counterparts in Yemeni jails. The website stated that the testimony of two former detainees arrested by UAE nationals, confirming that at least one US interrogator was present during brutal torture, including beatings, electric shocks, rape and the use of vicious dogs.

Turkey ,for its part, announced the extension of its Naval Forces in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea for an additional year, according to the official Turkish newspaper published.This comes after the Turkish parliament approved the presidential memorandum, which provides for the extension of the task of Turkish naval forces in the mentioned areas, an additional year, as of 10 February 2019.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
