Al-Houthi calls on UN, SC to set up mechanism to sell Yemeni oil

The Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has called on the United Nations and the Security Council to set a mechanism to sell Yemeni crude oil, including the floating tank oil.
“The implementing the mechanism in exchange for supplement and import of petrol, diesel and domestic gas as they are essential basic needs for citizens,” Mohamed Ali al-Houthi addressed the United Nations and the Security Council.
He called on the United Nations and the Security Council to put a mechanism to sell Yemeni crude oil, including the floating tank oil in Safer and put its revenues of what is being sold to the bank of Sanaa and Aden to pay employees’ salaries within their control.
The losses suffered by the oil sector in the province of Hodeidah, during four years of aggressive war of Saudi-led coalition on Yemen, amounted to more than 33 billion riyals.
That included the damage and losses of Ras Issa port, which amounted to 17,170,676,000 riyals, according to statements by Director of the Yemeni Petroleum Company branch in Hodeidah Mohammed al-Lukomi and Director of Ras Issa facilities Mohammed Mahiob during a seminar on the oil sector losses during four years of the aggression.
